The picture is of the Eastern Gate entrance to the old city (Jerusalem) circa May 2005. This is the gate through which Christ will return to establish his Kingdom on the Earth. Notice the graveyard which the Muslims have placed there in order to "prevent" Jesus Christ the eternal high priest from entering in through this gate lest he be "defiled" by dead bodies.

Welcome to our site! The Tabernacle of Prayer is a new church in Bakersfield, California. We are located at 7400 District Blvd, Suite C, Bakersfield, CA. 93313. Be sure to check our "Updates" page regularly to keep up with current events as pertain to our church schedule and bible study subjects.

We are teaching Rev. Irvin Baxter's "End Time" bible study series on Friday Nights at 7:00 P.M. We are over half way through the Level 2 series and will be starting the Level 3 series (which explains the proper way to interpret Revelation and the order of end time events). If you have not been through this course, you will be amazed at the insight Bro. Baxter has as it relates to end time events. Be sure to check out our updates page to see what our topic will be this week. .

We are teaching bible studies on "Basic Christianity" Wednesday Evenings at 7:00 P.M. We are also open at 6:00 PM on Sunday's for an old fashioned prayer meeting. Be sure to check out our updates page to see what our lesson will be this week. .

The church doors are not yet open for "regular" services, but the expected start date is Sunday Morning, October 19th, 2008. When we open for "regular" services, our service times will be Sunday Morning: 10:00 A.M. Sunday Evening: 6:00 P.M. and Wednesday Evening: 7:00 P.M..
