Armageddon

Pictures From Israel (Circa May 2005)

The caption underneath each picture describes the scene.

You are looking from the top of the ruins of Megiddo over the valley of Har-Megiddo, more well known as Armageddon. This is where that battle which leads to the Lord's return will take place one day. This valley leads straight to Jerusalem. IIRC, this is looking in the direction of Jerusalem.

This is a view of another part of the valley. I believe the tour guide said this area is a natural wetland. Just imagine it being very wet after a recent storm and the enemy coming against Israel by the hundreds of thousands, if not multiple millions. All the blood that would be shed could turn that water red and reach the "horse's bridle" (grill of a jeep stuck in the mud??)

This is how the city of Megiddo once looked.

This looks like it would have been tough to conquer. However, it was conquered many times during it's history.

The ruins are in multiple levels. They are trying to uncover as much as they can without destroying everything else in the process.

I believe this is where the stables used to be. King David had troops stationed here during his reign.
