There is one thing that has been ingrained in the Jewish mind from the beginning of his knowledge of God. That is: There is one God, and only one God. In early Christianity it was exactly the same way. Unfortunately; some have taken severe liberties with the word of God and changed that unchangeable doctrine to suit the philosophy of their age. What we need to do is look to the bible and see what the bible has to say about the Godhead. Is there one God or three? Three persons manifest as one, or one God manifest in three modes of operation? Let’s see what “thus sayeth” the word.

The doctrine of the Godhead has been a controversial subject since the third century after Christ’s ascension to heaven.  People for whatever reason, were not content to take the word of God at face value. They had to spiritualize it, use Greek philosophy, add in their agnostic viewpoints, until they could explain it in man’s terms instead of in the simplicity of God’s terms. Simplicity is something that man seems to desire to avoid when speaking of God. People tend to make things more difficult in order to increase their stature by eliminating others, less educated, from their level. However, God moved on men to write at the common man’s level so that all could understand.

Again, in order to  teach, preach, explain, expound, or whatever other term you wish to use. I am going to present here a “thus sayeth the word” study on the subject of the Godhead.

There is a lot of ground to cover so fasten your seatbelts and hang on!!!!!

1.     There is only one God

One of the first things a Hebrew child was taught was that there is only one God. Let’s read Deuteronomy 6:4.

Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

This is a key foundation of personage of God. but there are many other scriptures that make it very plain there is only one God. Many people would like you to think that we only have a handful of scriptures on which to hang our scriptural hat when it comes to the Godhead. Bah! Humbug! We have many, many scriptures on which we can lay our hat. Here are just a few for you on the subject of one God.

Deuteronomy 4:35 Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the LORD he is God; there is none else beside him.

Deuteronomy 4:39 Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the LORD he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.

Deuteronomy 32:39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.

Isaiah 43:10-11 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.

Isaiah 44:8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.

Isaiah 45:21-22 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? Who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me. Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

Isaiah 46:9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,

James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

If even the devils believe there is one God, and they saw him personally before getting kicked out of heaven. Who are we to doubt that there is only one God!!

2.     Jesus is that one God

Now, since the scriptures teach that there’s only one God, and since Jesus is God, he must be the only one true God. Let’s compare what the Old Testament and the New Testament have to say about God and Jesus:

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Therefore Jesus is God with us.

3.     Jesus is the Mighty God

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

This scripture prophesies the birth of Christ. Jesus is called the mighty God and the everlasting Father in this scripture signifying that he would be the physical incarnation of God.

4.     Jesus is God the healer

Isaiah 35:4-6 Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.

Who in all of scripture first opened the eyes of the blind? Who healed the sick, opened the ears of the deaf, made the lame to walk again? Jesus Chirst that’s who! Who then is this passage in the Old Testament talking about then?  God that’s who. Who fulfilled all these promises in the New Testament?     Let’s go to the New Testament and find out.

Matthew 11:4-5 Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see: The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Looks like this passage is talking about Jesus. He must be God!!

Luke 8:38-39 Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying, Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.

In this passage it says show how great things God has done and then the man published what Jesus had done. The man was there when it happened, I don’t think he could be wrong about who healed him.

5.     Jesus is God

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Let’s see here, the word was made flesh and dwelt among us. The word was God, the word was Jesus. Wouldn’t that be sufficient proof that Jesus is God? It doesn’t get much plainer than that. God manifest himself in the flesh so that we his own could behold him.

John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

Thomas walked with Jesus for three years. If he wasn’t God, you would think Thomas would have been convinced of it by now. After all he was “doubting Thomas….”

6.     God is our Savior

2 Samuel 22:3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

Isaiah 43:11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.

Luke 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

1 Timothy 4:10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

2 Timothy 1:10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

The above passages declare God as the Savior, and Christ our Savior? If God is our Savior and Jesus is our Savior, and there is only one Savior, Then Jesus must be God. Stands to reason doesn’t it?

7.     Jesus is God manifest in the flesh

Let’s look at what the New Testament says about that first.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

2 Corinthians 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Now the Old Testament:

Zechariah 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

The speaker in the quotation in Zechariah is none other that Jehovah. It’s God who says “ They shall look upon me whom they pierced”. How can they look upon God who is a spirit (John 4:24). Very simple, in his manifested flesh, as Jesus Christ, whom they pierced with a spear while on the cross at Calvary.

8.     Jesus is God the judge

On this subject we want to compare scriptures from both the Old Testament and the New Testament. We all know there is only one Judge for our sins. Let’s see who the scriptures say this is. After all, this is a “thus sayeth the word” bible study. Notice first:

Romans 14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

Matthew 25:31-32 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

The passages which I have just read declares Jesus Christ to be that judge. But now look at these passages:

Genesis 18:25 That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

This is speaking of the judgment of Sodom and Gomorra. This was Lot speaking to the angels about the judgment of God almighty. God is the judge in this passage Just like in Revelation 20:12-13 below:

Revelation 20:12-13 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

God does the judging in the passages we just read:

Now lets read Revelation 22:12-13

Revelation 22:12-13 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

In this passage a man brings a reward for each mans work. This is a judge and that Judge is Christ Jesus. Since both God and Jesus are judges, and there is only one judge, Jesus must be God.

9.     Jesus is the true God

1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

Jesus is the only true God, this passage alone should be enough to convince anyone with a teachable heart and a tender heart toward Christ and the leading of his spirit.

10.             Jesus is the almighty God

Genesis 17:1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

Now there can only be one almighty, and God, Jehovah is the one. Now hear this

Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

So we’ve solved the great mystery. Jesus is Jehovah the Almighty God in the flesh; not a second God, but the one and only Almighty. Let us go a little bit further; God, Jehovah reiterated to Jacob that he was the Almighty:

Genesis 35:11 And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;

So if God is almighty and Jesus is almighty, then Jesus has to be God since only one person can be almighty. Otherwise if two people are equal of power, they might be mighty, but neither is almighty.

11.             Jesus is God the Creator

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Malachi 2:10 Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?

John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (Jesus)

If the doctrine of the trinity is correct we have two creators, which of course, is incorrect in light of the scriptures. Who created all things? God did (Genesis 1:1). But Jesus did it in (John 1:1-3).

Now if you say that God and Jesus are separate individuals or persons; who did all the work? God said he did, Jesus said he did. Malachi 2:10 said that “One God” created us. Then it is a settled fact that two didn’t. Either someone is doctrinally incorrect or Jesus is God.

And then let’s compare this with the scriptures below:

Isaiah 44:24 Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself; (God)

John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. (Jesus)

Isaiah 45:12 I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded. (God)

Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: (Jesus)

Psalms 100:3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. (God)

Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. (Jesus)

12.             There is only one Father

Malachi 2:10 Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Isaiah says that the son is the Father, therefore to see Christ is to see the Father

John 8:19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.

John 12:44-45 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.

John 14:8-9 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

There could be nothing plainer at this point. But that Jesus is the Father. The Father is not seen except in and through Christ, His tabernacle. God in the past has employed many different ways of manifesting Himself. For instance, to the Israelites, He used the cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night. To Moses he was the burning bush. Many people believe that the theophanies of the Old Testament were manifestations of God in a visible form.

13.             God is a spirit

John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

The Holy Ghost is a spirit and is the Father of Jesus. God is a spirit and is the Father of Jesus. So the Holy Ghost is God. God sends his spirit to do things because it is omnipresent, his flesh, which is Christ, isn’t.

Hebrews 1:1-3 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

The writer of the Hebrews simply means that God is manifested in the flesh (1Tim 3:16). The Son is flesh, the Father is the spirit. The Father begat the son as His tabernacle through which he has manifested Himself and spoken to us; and not as some teach as a second person. We see the Father in and through Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

Revelation 22:3-4 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

You will notice that there is only one throne. It is the throne of God and the Lamb. If the trinity doctrine is correct, there would be two on the same throne. Which means the throne is divided, which it isn’t, or there would be more than one throne, which there isn’t.

This is not difficult. Remember that God is a spirit and the Lamb is the tabernacle. That is the reason the scriptures use the terms His servants, His face, His name. So then there is only one on the throne.

Now we’ll show that the spirit of God and the spirit of Christ is one and the same:

Ephesians 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

You will notice that he said there is only one spirit, not two or three.

Acts 5:3-4 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

When they lied to the Holy Ghost they were lying to God

Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Paul first says, it is the Spirit of God in us, then calls it the Spirit of Christ; thus making no difference. Therefore proving that the Spirit of God, and the Spirit of Christ are one and the selfsame Spirit.

14.             Jesus is God the “I AM”

Let’s do some more Old Vs New Testament comparisons:

Exodus 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Isaiah 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. (God)

John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. (Jesus)

I don’t think it gets any more clear than this folks.

15.             Jesus is the first and the last God

Let’s start with the Old Testament:

Isaiah 44:6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

Isaiah 48:12 Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.

New Testament:

Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Revelation 1:17-18 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Revelation 2:8: And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;

For those who believe that God and Christ are separate. Please explain how two could be first or two could be last. In a race two could tie, but the designation first denotes a winner. This also should prove that Jehovah God of the Old Testament and Jesus Christ of the New Testament are one and the same.

16.             Jesus is “God the fountain of living waters”

Jeremiah 2:13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

Jeremiah 17:13 O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.

Jeremiah declares God to be the fountain of living waters. Let’s compare that with the following New Testament scriptures:

John 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

John 7:37-38 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

God says that I am the fountain of living waters. Jesus says, come unto me and drink of the living waters. The scriptures don’t teach of two fountains of living water, but rather, that Jesus is Jehovah.

17.             Jesus is “God the Rock”

Deuteronomy 32:4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

Psalms 18:31 For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God?

1 Corinthians 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

Now let us examine the above scriptural quotations. Moses in Dueteronomy 32:4 said that “God is the rock”. Paul in 1 Corinthians 10:4  says “And that rock was Christ Jesus”. The clearness of the scriptures dictate that God and Jesus are one and the same.

Now notice again,

Psalm 18:31 “For who is God save the LORD?”

In other words, the Lord is God. Not just any Lord, but “THE LORD”. Read the below scripture:

Acts 9:5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

I would have to think that it is very plain, “The Lord” said I am Jesus. If Jesus is the Lord, and the Lord is God, then Jesus is God. God will make his truth plain if we will only open our eyes to see and our ears to hear what his scriptures say.

18.             Jesus is “ King of Kings and Lord of Lords”

Revelation 17:14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

Revelation 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Now compare these scriptures with the Old Testament scriptures:

Deuteronomy 10:17 For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:

Daniel 2:47 The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.

19.             Jesus is the “Coming One”

We all agree that Christ is coming back. “The second time.”

Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Acts 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

As we have seen, the scriptures plainly teach that God is coming back. Let’s just read a few more scriptures:

Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

Paul makes plain the fact that God is our Savior, and that He is coming back after us.

Philippians 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

Paul also makes it plain in Philippians that Jesus is our savior. Do we have two saviors? No, but it does make it plain that Jesus and God are one and the same.

Praise God for the truth. There is a vast difference between “Bible Truth” and “Man’s theory.” Bible truth teaches the “Oneness” of Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Men’s theory teaches the trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Have you ever found the word trinity in your bible? Of course not. But you did find the word “One” in many, many places. Please read the following scriptures:

Job 6:10 Then should I yet have comfort; yea, I would harden myself in sorrow: let him not spare; for I have not concealed the words of the Holy One.

Psalms 16:10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. (Speaking of Jesus, death, burial, and resurrection).

Isaiah 29:23 But when he seeth his children, the work of mine hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name, and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel.

For those who may not know it, Jacob is Israel. He was renamed Israel after having a life changing experience with God.

Isaiah 40:25 To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.

Isaiah 41:14 Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

Isaiah 43:14 Thus saith the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships.

Isaiah 43:15 I am the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.

Now the New Testament:

Mark 1:24 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

Luke 4:34 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.

1 John 2:20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

The list could go on for many pages, but I think that you get the idea.

20.             The phrase “The Right Hand”

Is the phrase “the right hand” a physical position or a symbol of power? The Bible teaches it to be a symbol of power. Please read the following scriptures:

Exodus 15:6 Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.

Psalms 118:15-16 The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly. The right hand of the LORD is exalted: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.

The passages which we’ve just read make it plain that the right hand is a position of power. Jesus speaking of the “right hand” also makes it very plain that it’s a position of power.

Matthew 26:64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

Mark 14:62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

Many use Acts 7:56 to prove that the right hand is a physical position. They will say that “Stephen saw Jesus standing on the right hand of God.” Now it would look very funny to Jesus standing on an actual hand. It doesn’t even make sense, especially since Jesus is said to be sitting on the throne in heaven. But for the good of those who insist that it is a physical position we will quote Acts 7:56 and then go on to Verse 59.

Acts 7:56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.

Acts 7:59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.

So Stephen was seen calling upon God and addressing him as ‘Lord Jesus.” Yes Stephen knew the truth, that God and Jesus are one and the same. He made it very plain in his last words. Please note that he says “Lord Jesus receive my spirit.” In this connection read:

Ecclesiastes 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Now if you say that the right hand is a physical position, that Stephen saw two persons, one at the right of the other. Why then did Stephen being an Israelite, knowing the scriptures from his youth, having been taught Deuteronomy 6:4 call Jesus God?

Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

Why did he ask Christ to receive his spirit instead of God? Because he knew that Christ is God. That he was standing in the full power and glory of the Almighty God, as is his rightful place, not in a physical position.

21.             Jesus is the “King of Israel

Isaiah 44:6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

Matthew 21:5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.

So God is the King of Israel in Isaiah, and Jesus came to them as King in Matthew. Yes, clothed in flesh just as he will when he comes to take home his bride.

Zechariah 14:9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.

To the inquisitive soul, to the true seeker of truth. Beyond a shadow of a doubt it has been proven that God and Christ are one and there is no trinity. When you know who Jesus Christ truly is, you will have a much deeper relationship with him. You will understand things better, your eyes will be opened up in other areas as well. You will walk in more power than any demon from hell can ever hope to defeat.

·         Remember, God and his word are one and the same (John 1:1). When you disbelieve the word, you call God a liar.
